Like many school or community organizations, Midwest CUPA-HR is a volunteer organization. Members offer their time and talent to serve as officers or committee members for the Midwest region or as regional representatives on CUPA-HR national association task forces and committees.
Those who have served as leaders will attest to the professional and personal benefits derived from their involvement. Participants benefit from the opportunity to hone their leadership skills, gain insights about successful operational strategies, and expand their network of professional contacts. The working relationships developed along the way often turn into lasting friendships.
Most of the association’s regional business is handled through email or conference calls. The Board of Directors, Program Planning Committee, and Site Coordination Committee meet in the fall and winter at the conference site to prepare for the conference and attend to regional business. Members are reimbursed by the Region for their personal travel expenses.
It is easy to become involved. All you need to do is submit your name for consideration. Board positions are filled by a vote of the membership at the annual business meeting, but committee chairs or board members make other appointments. If you think you may be interested in a volunteer position at the region or state level, or would like additional information on what is involved with an appointment, please contact us.
